Dr. Anna Margareta Wagner, Basel

After qualifying as a Gynaecologist at the Inselspital, Bern I worked for many years as a consultant in the Women’s Clinic at the University Hospitals of Biel and Basle. My areas of specialisation in Gynaecology and Obstetrics lie in risk consultation for pregnant women, especially in the areas of gestational diabetes, hypertension in pregnancy and pre-eclampsia. In addition, I have specialised in cervical cell abnormalities and hold an internationally recognised diploma in Cervical Pathology.

My specialist areas of interest are Aesthetic Gynaecology and in Better Aging. Today, modern techniques make it possible to offer non-surgical, non-hormonal solutions for women, especially those going through menopause, who are experiencing problems such as vaginal dryness, incontinence and sexual dysfunction. Through my close collaboration with the European Society for Aesthetic Gynaecology and my international contacts, my patients benefit from the findings of the most up-to-date research and my broad range of services.

In my spare time I am involved in projects in developing countries, which has already taken me to India, and in summer 2016, to Somaliland, where I was involved in educating local doctors, midwives and students. Here passing on obstetric skills and educating medical staff in the use of ultrasound can significantly reduce the rates of mother and child mortality.
